In 1994 the business was formed with the goal of addressing a gap in the legal market; the use of emerging technologies to streamline legal processes. The original intent of the business was to capitalise on the capacity of digital media - and later the Internet - to empower consumers and SME’s to represent themselves in legal matters. Since 2002 we have successfully launched services for HBOS, RBS, NatWest, Barclays, MORE TH>N, Allianz, Abbey and – most recently – Saga and the AA. We have also provided branded services for larger sized law firms, including Russell Jones and Walker, Brethertons and Hugh James and acted as a supplier for Thomson/Sweet and Maxwell.

As our platform and capability developed it became clear that many of the technologies developed for use by Institutions could assist the legal profession by introducing economies of scale to many areas of the law. This led to the release of DirectLaw, a technology platform aimed at the law firm market
