About Shelter Cymru

Shelter Cymru wants everyone in Wales to have a decent home. We believe a home is a fundamental right and essential to the health and well-being of people and communities.

Shelter Cymru is Wales’ "people and homes" charity. We have offices all over Wales and prevent people from losing their homes by offering free, confidential and independent advice. When necessary we constructively challenge on their behalf to ensure they are properly assisted and to improve practice and learning.

We work with people as equals, to help them identify the best options to keep their home and to help them take control of their own lives.

We also provide a range of training courses, conferences and seminars, particularly to provide young people with a better understanding of how homelessness can affect them, and how to avoid it. Check out our training courses and events diary on the Training & Education webpage.

Contributions from members of the public make it possible for us to prevent homelessness every day.
